Automated appraisals are useless, but so are most paid ones as well..

The appraisals you get on forums like Digitalpoint and other domain related forums can be ok, but most of them are from a domain speculator's view and tends to be a bit undervalued or seriously overvalued, at least compared to end-user prices (that can be hard to get anyway)..
And many of the ones who replies to appraisals doesn't have a clue about the real value of domains so it can be quite hard to separate the serious ones from the others...

One of the better ways, in my opinion, to price domains is to compare your domains with previous domain sales and base the price on that...
