It's really not that hard to get indexed by Google, just get a link on a page/site with a decent pagerank (PR 3-4 and above), and Googlebot will find your link/site the next time it crawls that page.
I don't use many days to get new sites spidered and indexed by Google that way.

Google's good as long as you don't trust the search results 100% and use some common sense when you look at the results.
Lot's of spammy sites out there, but so far Google and Yahoo has been pretty decent in keepeing the serach results as clean as possible.
MSN isn't that bad either, but "traditionally" it's been easier to manipulate MSN's rankings than Google and Yahoo's, so I really don't use MSN that much any more.
