Post - Boot Disc Failure

I had a hardrive with badsectors on it so i replaced it....on the other harddrive i split it into three partitions...on partition 1 i installed xp pro and partition 2 installed vista...while still having the original hdd hooked...after i was set i got rid of my old harddrive but first used the xp boot dics to delete the original xp pro off my bad harddrive...now when i try to boot just my new harddrive i get a screen that says
Windows would not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem.
Could not read from the selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware.
Please check the Windows documentation about hardware disk configuration and your hardware reference manuals for additional information.

I would greatly not have to reformat my new harddrive with the multiboot os on it...if any one at all could help me into restoring my disk hardware settings to boot this hdd up i would greatly appreciate that...sincerly a friend of datalk -bsballz
