I think the desition to go from Windows 2000 to XP is the wrong way, in stability 2000 will win hands down. Just a matter of program compability of course.
Recently bought a new laptop and it was installed with Vista and I can say that I cept it for a whole 15 to 20 min and then installed Windows XP.
