Post - "I feel much better now, I really do."

http://www.palantir.net/2001/tma1/wav/better.wav

I had a hard time picking a username for this forum since most of my usernames on other forums are military related (yes, I work in the military.. ) and didn't fit here very good...
But I came up with HAL, based on the "character"/computer HAL-9000 in the very interesting movie 2001: A Space Odyssey.
(HAL's programmed objective was to ensure the mission's success — at any cost... )

I live i Norway, and as I said above I work in the Norwegian Defence Forces, but my job not related to computers at all so this is "only" a hobby..
Been programming different languages since I got my first computer, a Texas Instruments TI-99 many many years ago (around 85-86 I think).

I started programming in Basic on my first PC, a 4,77Mhz IBM 8088, and advanced to Assembler and Turbo Pascal later when I got a better 286, and I was pretty active with (graphics) demo and intro programming back then...
I did also use Delphi a bit, and tried C++ some time ago, but in the recent years I haven't programmed much "offline" software.
I've used PHP/MySQL a couple of years now, but this summer i finally decided to get a formal education in PHP programming, and I did also take online classes in AJAX programming and Linux so the last 4-5 months have been pretty busy....
Done with all three exams now, so I'll hopefully have some more spare time in 2007 (and I'm pretty sure that "my better half" hopes that as well )...

I run a few other sites, and another medium sized forum (270k posts) but I can come back to that later...
