I have now tried Conqueror, Guardian, Barbarian, Ranger, Preist of Mistra, Necromancer and Priest of Set.
My favorites are Conqueror, Barbarian, and Priest of Set.
Conqueror and Barbarian are very similar. Barbarian is pure DPS but cannot take much in terms damage due to medium-only armor and low hitpoints. I prefer the Conqueror better protection and ability to buff.
I was going to try Demonologist, but I realized at LVL 5 that I had accidentally chosen Priest of Set by accident. The POS is "shockingly" fun, it can both heal and can cast lightning attacks. The very first lighting spell can kill 3 low level enemies at a time. Plus it can heal like a Priest of Mistra, although its devinitely more 'attack' based.
I still have Scribe of Xentil, Assassin, Dark Templar and Demonologist to try.
We hope you are merrily chopping off Pict heads in the Age of Conan Open Beta, and that your journey in Hyboria has been a memorable one so far. You have only seen the beginning though, as we prepare an EPIC ending to your Open Beta experience.
On the 10th of May we are transforming the entire Open Beta into PvP MAYHEM, while at the same time giving you access to all which Hyboria has to offer! That is right, as we take down our servers for a short period we are at the same time changing the entire server rule-set to Free For All PvP carnage! Your servers will ALL become PvP! Participate if you dare, or make a new character and stay in the safety of Tortage!
Details:
All servers become PvP servers. You can kill each other – no level restrictions on killing or getting killed, but you cannot PvP in the major cities.
All level 13 characters becomes level 20. Their inventory is wiped, but they have “tons” of money and really nice equipment suitable for level 20’s. Shopping bonanza!
You have access to ALL zones and ALL levels after level 20!
You will be zoned to your Race’s Hub. (Cimmerians – Conarch Village, Aquillonians – Old Tarantia and Stygians – Khemi!
Ouch (or congrats. )..
Did you uninstall everything of Girlfriend 1.0 before upgrading??
I've heard that version 1.0 and 2.0 really doesn't match at all and having both installed at the same time could/will make the system crash completely (unless you're very lucky.. )
I've also read reports that Girlfriend 2.0 is a real resource hog and also can have some compatibility issues with DrinkingBuddies 1.0, have you noticed anything there??
They've shut down the servers for a few hours, so it looks like they're preparing them for "PvP Mayhem" now..
I have a couple of hours alone tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see how this turns out...
Oh yes, girlfriend 2.0 was a clean install, I didn't want any old files from version 1.0 to carry over into 2.0. As you said, I didn't want any incompatibilities with older+newer versions so I decided to start fresh.
Back to Topic.
Since the little lady is lunching with her cousin (there is only so much girl talk I can stand before my system overloads) I have a few extra hours. Unfortunately I discovered the open Beta has ended, So know I must wait until the 23rd.
