Topic AMD FX-60 Unknown Problem

I bought a perfectly good lightly used AMD FX-60 processor off of ebay and when I hooked it up to my A8N-SLI Premium mobo the processor says "AMD Processor Model Unknown" but it lists the exact Ghz frequency but does not give the name in any information software...I updated to the recent BIOS update of 1009 and installed all the proper device drivers for processor but it continually says AMD Processor Unknown...anyone who gots any ideas i would appreciate it...I am running Windows XP Professional SP2 32 bit edition.

If it's Windows, its a known issue. XP doesn't recognize this particular model of processor and if I remember correct there is a special patch for this particular CPU you must download from Microsoft.

You'll need to update your BIOS (again).

so does it work? anyway, if it doesn't work~ i think it might have something to do with your main board as some main board can't support certain processors.

it was an bios problem...updated it, now no problems, thanks guys
