Topic Best Mid Budget Laptop

Which in your opinion is the best mid budget laptop out their? I am thinking of changing my laptop of 1 year. Right now, I have a Dell Vostro 1400. In the last one year so many models have come out. Brandwise, I prefer Dell XPS. I donot generally like the Sony Viao series, I think apart from the Sony name it does not offer anything more. Would love to know your opinion.

Mid range would be anything between $1000 to $1500.

One of the laptops I am checking out is Asus M50SV-AS016G. It has a 2.5GHz Core 2 Duo T9300 with 2GB of RAm to back it up. But its a bit overbudget at $1990

It's $1,599 at Newegg.com, but it should probably be possible to find it cheaper than that...
