Post - Commodore Gaming PC - I want one of these...

Commodore Gaming was established after a group acquired the Commodore brand in late 2005 as part of a joint venture with Commodore International Corporation.

At CeBit (yes, again.. ) they introduced 4 new Commodore Game PCs, ranging from entry level gaming to an “extreme specification model”.

Their smallest one is called Commodore G, and has the following specs:
  • Intel® Core™2 Duo processor E6320: 1.86GHz 2M Cache
  • ASUS P5N32-E nForce 650i SLI motherboard
  • 250GB 7200 RPM SATA hard drive
  • 2GB Corsair® Twin2x2048-5400C4 memory: 667MHz
  • Philips® DVDRW optical drive
  • 550W ICE Cube power supply
  • On Board Integrated Hi Definition 7.1 Channel sound
  • NVIDIA® 7900 GS 256MB graphics card

But the most impressive one is their "flagship" Commodore XX
  • Intel® Core™2 Extreme Quad-Core processor QX6700:
    2.66GHz 8M Cache
  • ASUS® P5N32-E nForce 680i SLI motherboard
  • 2x 150GB 10000 RPM SATA Raid 0 and
    1x 500GB 7200 RPM SATA Raid 1 hard drives
  • 4GB Corsair® Dominator 2xTwin2x2048-8500C5D memory: 1066MHz
  • Philips® DVDRW optical drive
  • 1000W ICE Cube power supply
  • Creative® SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
  • 2x NVIDIA® 8800 GTX 768MB graphics cards

I REALLY want one of those!!!

The "bonus" features you get with each Commodore Game PC are the following:
  • Interchangeable casing panels, ready to be personalized with your choice of artwork
  • High density layered sound insulation
  • Extensive stress test performed on every system
  • Unique floating full front door that can be closed with your USB cables still connected
  • Two independently illuminated fans with eight changeable colours that you control
  • Preloaded with Windows Vista Ultimate/Premium
  • Preloaded with a C64 emulator, containing more than 50 classic games
  • Purchase comes with a 2 year, full parts and service warranty plan
YES! You get a C64 Emulator w/50 games!!!
(I don't think you need a PC like that to run old C64 games though...)

They've also intruduced a new "skin" system for their PCs, called C=KIN (pronounced Skin..)
Quote:
The Commodore gaming PC is designed to enhance any environment, with its exterior complementing your interior. What’s more, the smooth design of the casing makes it an open and inviting canvas to be outfitted with any art that matches your personality and taste. With the unique C-kin program, the art of your choice will be made part of the casing itself, through a revolutionary painting process.

Having a C-kin on your Commodore PC is not like having a tattoo; you can renew it at any time to fit your mood and occasion, simply by changing your C-kin. Our accessible and ever growing online image library will span a wealth of specially selected art: from gaming concept art and film stills to paintings, street art, exclusive colours and art photography.

Lots of great C=KINs to choose from there:

Looks like Alienware and Dell might be up for some serious competition in May
when these ones are ready for sale in UK, Germany and the Benelux countries..
Planned to be sold in the US after the summer, probably around the same time as E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo).
Nothing official on the sales prices yet, but they have said that they aim to always be cheaper than their competitors so they'll probably cost from around $1800 for the cheapest Commodore G, to around $6,500/$7,000 for the highest speced Commodore XX, and a new C-Kin will probably cost around $150-$200...

A bit pricey, but very cool anyway
(and just admit it, the Commodore brand does make it a bit attractive as well.. )

Here's some more nice Commodore Gaming pics from CeBit:

I wonder if they'll offer custom C-Kins later as well.
That would have been nice..

I wouldn't mind having what's inside the case either, at least not in the Commodore XX..
