Post - Which company do you use?

Which hosting company do you use? Is it good or bad, in your opinion?

You can see my post on mine for mine

Deasoft

I also have a Globat account but I'm thinking of getting rid of it.

It has done me well but they are big and corporate and limit you to what you can do, their tech support is decent but they can only help you as much as they are allowed to. Server up time is good but the control panel lacks (it isn't cpanel). I'm basically getting rid of it to consolidate and the fact it is an extra expense I don't really need anymore...

I'm a big believer of searching for small time hosts, I found a deal on ebay for 1 years hosting with UNLIMITED EVERYTHING for £3.50. It has been fantastic and the support is great as its one on one. Its ideal for personal sites/projects but maybe not for business. Uptime has been 100% so far!

Wow. That sounds like a great deal. You mean they haven't been down even ONCE, in your knowledge? Now that's really good. Thanks for sharing.

I'm always sceptic to hosts that offer unlimited anything simply because that's not possible..
So as you say it may be good for personal sites/projects, but I would personaly never use anyone that offers something like that on any important sites.

I rent a dedicated server from the Planet (former EV1servers) myself, and I'm very happy with their products and their excellent customer support so far.

I've also got a reseller account from Polurnet (for my own use), and an "old" account on Globat that I've planned to terminate when the billing period is up (don't need it anymore)

I've also used Lunarpages in the past, and was very happy with their products and support (but had to move since the site I had there grew too big for their plans.. )

I use Ixwebhosting...it is a good company from what I can see...it only offers shared hosting though...which means that I can't modify the server to suit my and only my needs.

What is the URL and the price? How many times has your site been down? I guess it all depends on the price and the speed, traffic control.

Well, I catch a lot of splutter and disbelief over this one, but I host my biggest site at Invision. Why? Because the most important feature of my site is Invision Power Board, and I need the techies who know its anatomy on my side all the time. I've had some problems with them in the past; but not as many as I had with my first two hosts...both of whom are out of business now.

I didn't splutter or disbelief. There are possiblities. I think DreamHost is pretty good. It hasn't been down a lot, which is better than I can say for others. *tsk* *tsk*

I use a few hosting companies, for shared hosting I would strongly recommend HostGator, I always had good luck with them. I am on dedicated servers now, and I use Softlayer, iweb8, and FDCServers. I have had good luck on all of them, and they have treated me very well.
