Topic Dedicate BluRay player or Playstation 3??

So, I was considering buying a BluRay player now that the HD war is pretty much done. I have noticed that you can buy a dedicated BluRay player for about $399, but I also noticed that the PS3 is the same price. It seems like a no-brainer to buy the PS3, but is it really that cut and dry? Any advice?

I've been considering the same thing and I think I'll go for the PS3..

The Bluray player on the PS3 pretty good, and it's a pretty good "bonus" that you're also able to play games on your Bluray player so the choice is pretty easy for me..

That was the main reason I was considering it. I had a conversation with someone the other day and they were saying that advances in BluRay may make it so that some players may not play certain BluRay discs. If this is true, then maybe the PS3 is the better option because it is easier to update firmware. What do you think?

lol i rather go for PS3. i mean PS3 enables you to play videos and games right? while the blueray player only allows you to play videos and maybe some with simple games. but i wonder, if there any advantages for getting a blueray player then PS3?
