Post - .EU Domains dropping "like flies"

One year has gone since the .EU Sunrise period and it seems like it's going like many predicted.
"tons" of .eu domain names are dropped every hour now since many registered a lot of crappy names in the .eu frenzy that took place early last year..
You can find the .eu domain registration stats here at the Eurid.eu site:
http://status.eurid.eu/ (2,370,617 .eu domains in total at the time of this post)
I don't know how often they update it, but I see that the numbers have dropped during today..

I'm not a big .eu fan, especially after the warehousing scandals where many fake registrars registered (hundreds of) thousands of .eu domain name for themselves.
You can read more about that here:

I couldn't see it lasting. Who even thinks to go to a .eu site? People will grab hold of any "big thing", won't they?

I can't access the .eu official website lol. I'm thinking of getting a few extra domains myself, need to make some extra cash.

I personally don't think I have ever been to a .eu site in my life, to me they seem like a waste of money.
