I think it foolish to upgrade more than once every 3 or 4 releases. The changes between them are usually microscopic and are geared more toward generating revenue than actually improving anything of significance. I may never get Vista.

I'm in no rush to upgrade to Vista, and I want to be sure that my VST musical instruments and Cubase will be compatible when I do.

I don't sit around complaining about Microsoft all the time, but I don't like monopolies in general.

Haha! Less to Microsoft, more to us.

At last somebody says Mr. Gates to stop playing with us, and start making food operating systems.

Save money is a subject of ongoing debate. Depending on the license and support costs, the overall costs are comparable, sometimes favoring one or the other.

Nothing against Linux, just ain't a clear cut winner.

I'm still on XP, for the gaming quality. Maybe SP1 will help Vista (sitting on a partition on my hard drive). I like some parts of it (media center), but haven't gotten very into it.

I think the desition to go from Windows 2000 to XP is the wrong way, in stability 2000 will win hands down. Just a matter of program compability of course.

Recently bought a new laptop and it was installed with Vista and I can say that I cept it for a whole 15 to 20 min and then installed Windows XP.

Well, your country is slightly ahead of my school... we upgraded to XP for the most part in about January. Still a few win2000s there, though.

No need to hate on vista. I have had no real problems with the vista on my new machine. Seems pretty stable and quick to me. Maybe some of that credit should go to the computer though. lol
