I'm one of those rare happy Vista users, so I have to admit I get a little baffled when I hear about all the problems. Vista came preloaded on my Gateway laptop, and I haven't had a speck of trouble. That said, my user requirements aren't very taxing as compared to the government.

In my opinion, Vista should be a give-away, as Microsoft are using those with it, as Beta testers to find the bugs.

I got Vista on my new laptop, and I couldn't agree more..
Took me 2 hours just to start the d**ed thing since it refused to recognize that I had a varified version of Vista (took 6 restarts and a 20min phonecall to get it working)...

I wonder if Vista SP1 will be able to fix many bugs, at least I hope it'll fix the insanely slow file copy process..

My main beef so far other than lack of available inbuilt drivers is the fact that Microsoft seems to feel that it's necessary to change the layout in new versions, e.g the Control Panel, nothing is to be found in the same place that it was in previous versions. This is a real headf**k when you deal with 3 different versions, and multiple personal setups in one day.

I wouldn't mind if it was done to achieve a completely different outcome, but why move things, or in some cases such as true Administrators rights, make them almost impossible to access for no real reason. I've had my rant, i feel better already
