Good, I hope more start sticking it to Microsoft. Hopefully all their anti conforming we set the standards attitude will come and bite them in the ass...

They should take a page from Google and "do no evil"

I'm not very surprised by this.
Governmental agencies wants stable platforms, and Vista probably wont be close to that in at least a year++...

Here in Norway the Defence Forces have just upgraded from Windows 2000 to Windows XP (less than a year ago)..

Actually Vista is very stable (not as say Linux, but its better than XP). The problem with Vista is the backwards compatibility of software. Forget about older Win 3.1 and Dos apps, there are plenty of WinXP SP2 apps that simply don't run.

This is why the FEDS are not upgrading. You'd expect the US government IT systems are state of the art, but they are not. The DOD for example, runs plenty of legacy applications (the Great wall of China is more recent). Because of this its too risky to install VISTA.

The lack of support for VISTA is another problem. Currently most of the drivers I use are BETAs, there are few WHQL drivers out there right now...

Vista is just another over designed under developed rushed application from a large software corporation....

In a year or two after a service pack or two and everyone has migrated over I'm sure it will be working smoothly until they decide to release Windows 2010: The Next Nightmare

I am really not surprised, it was a while before businesses began moving away from Windows 98 to Windows XP. I actually ended up waiting a year to upgrade to XP just because I was unsure how it would really perform. I suspect the same thing will happen to Vista.

There are just TOO many variables when upgrading to a new OS. Let's face it, just because a program works with XP, that doesn't necessarily follow that it'll work just as well with Vista.

I can only imagine the extreem problems that vista vill cause with Siemens and Mitsubishi programs that I use. I refuse to go over to Vista. Just the problem that it's harder to get computers with Windows XP Pro included.
