Post - GameCube

We bought a used GameCube off ebay because we couldn't afford a Wii at this time. I have to admit, it's gotten more use than anything else I think I've ever bought. I'm actually thinking of cancelling our satellite because it's rarely on anymore.

What does everyone else think about the GameCube? Is it still a viable system?

We have one and my boys are still playing it from time to time. Even having the Xbox360 and the PS2 I would have to say that our PS2 gets the most use though.

We got a Game Cube because I believe they have a bigger selection of family-friendly games. My 8-year old doesn't like games (and I don't like him having games) that are violent or intense.

I used to use my Game cube ALL the time. It waas a great little console with a good selection of games, but when i got my ps2, well its sort of been collecting dust.

I love the GameCube. They have quite a few excellent family and multiplayer games. Even though I have the Wii, the GameCube still gets plenty of use.

Ehhhm...

You know you can play gamecube games on the wii right? I got a wii and it supports gamecube games. Just hook up the old controllers in one of the four slots on the top... then you get smoother gameflow, and you only need one machine....

a friend of mine had hei wii for about 3 weeks before he even noticed the lid on the top....

But they are quite a bit more expensive than a Game Cube. Various neighbors have different systems, but I think our Game Cube probably sees more action than the rest. All of the kids seem to be here all of the time. Of course, no one has a Wii yet, so that one hasn't been tested yet.

I guess I'm glad I got the GameCube, but I STILL haven't gotten to play it. The kids or my husband hog it up. Maybe if I get up at 2am I'd get to play?

I used to have a GameCube, but once I bought a Wii I sold it for $80, because I didn't feel the need for it anymore, because you can play GameCube games on the Wii.
