Post - Keywords in URL and filenames

Regarding keywords, I've read that it helps to have them in your URLs, directories, and filenames for comprehensive SEO. Have you implemented this? I'm concerend if this is feasible with Joomla and other CMSes...

It does help, but don't overdo it (use too many keywords in the URL and file/directory names)...
You can look at the URL's here at Datalk.com to see how it works here

It's made by a (paid) modification for vBulletin forums called vBSEO.
Keywords in URLs are generally good for SEO, but as I said don't use too many keywords (I've limited it to 4) in the URLs and don't base your SEO on that alone.
There are a lot of other things that should be done with a page/site before applying keywords URLs, like; Relevant title tags, H1/H2 tags, keyword density etc. etc. etc....

I don't see why did you limit the number of keywords up to 4.

It might be useful to use slugs in blog posts, to make the URL easily memorable, but if you do that in forums it anyway adds the "t###" in the filename, thus making it even less memorable, because now the user has to remember both 4 words, and a number.

Higher keyword density in the URLs as well..
I guess it's also a matter of personal preferences as well since I think that more hyphens makes it look a bit spammy...

No one remembers thread URLs anyway (showthread?p=13590#post13590 etc. for vBulletin), and using keywords in forum URLs also makes them "stand out" a bit more as well in search results where the keywords will be highlighted when people searches for them.
