Laon.com has just been auctioned off at
www.snapnames.com for a cool $500,249
Snapnames specializes in "snapping up" expired/deleted domain names the (micro)second they become publicly available after the previous owner have let them expire/drop.
Their back-ordering service is very succesful, and they have several large auctions every week, but I believe that Laon.com is their best one so far.
They are also "first in line" for Network Solutions drop, so that's also the reason why they have many real good auctions.
Laon.com could be a typo for Loan.com, so it will probably be made into a PPC landing page real soon.
But even if the new owner makes $200+ pr day from clicks it will take around 7 years to make $500k so they probably have some other plans for it as well.
Why didn't I reg this domain back in 1996..
(it was first registered in Nov 1997...)
