Post - LukWerks, X10, and home gadgets :)

This thing is kinda cool, I dont know though there may be better alternatives...

I got a pretty sweet surveillance equipment catalog at work I'm tempted to make my own system. The one draw back to this LukWerks is that it still has a cord from camera to power supply. Which I would think limits you to having to place them within a close distance to a power receptacle...

But I do like the ease of setup...

Then again I'm also looking at X10 stuff to turn on some lights and what not...anyone got any other ideas?

The price isn't that bad, but there's a lot of below average "surveilance" stuff out there so be sure that you've done some research before buying anything.
(I don't know anything about the products you've listed by the way...)

You can find a review of Lukwerks here:

Doesn't look too bad.

It would be great to combine it with this one..

The X10 stuff seems pretty neat especially if you live in an apartment or dont feel like re-wiring your home right away. Since the latter can be extremely expensive and time consuming X10 def makes sense.

check this thing out

I know the site seems hokey but X10 has been around for a long time I remember a kid using it in his dorm room way back when I was a sophomore (like oh 7 years ago, wow, he was a Computer Engineering student of course) and it seemed pretty sweet, something about sitting at your computer and turning lights, fans, TVs, stereos on and off is just cool.

Here is all the portal to the automation section:
