Post - The Matrix is Real, and We're Not!?

We'll at least according to this guys theory..

Quote:
Our Lives, Controlled From Some Guy’s Couch
But now it seems quite possible. In fact, if you accept a pretty reasonable assumption of Dr. Bostrom’s, it is almost a mathematical certainty that we are living in someone else’s computer simulation.

This simulation would be similar to the one in “The Matrix,” in which most humans don’t realize that their lives and their world are just illusions created in their brains while their bodies are suspended in vats of liquid. But in Dr. Bostrom’s notion of reality, you wouldn’t even have a body made of flesh. Your brain would exist only as a network of computer circuits.

You couldn’t, as in “The Matrix,” unplug your brain and escape from your vat to see the physical world. You couldn’t see through the illusion except by using the sort of logic employed by Dr. Bostrom, the director of the Future of Humanity Institute at Oxford.

Sounds like someone's got way too much spare time, but then again it's really impossible to prove that we're not "living" inside the Matrix so you never know if he's correct or not..

how do we know he's not controlled by this very system?

Idea is that he would be controlled by the system, just another cog in the 'Matrix.' I don't buy his probabilities and numbers and such, but it's otherwise an interesting idea.

well why would the system let himself be known? it's nonsensical.

No you cannot say that.
There is no meaning in calling it a system you may call it as a highly sophisticated neural netwrok.
Its a known fact that when you give birht to a child your genes pass on to it.

The same way if we accept to give a shot to this argument of Matrix we find that we are also a part of the a bigger world and this bigger world has got the need to let know that its controlling us
