Post - Need a new Case.. Any recommendations??

After I upgraded to 2 X 8800GTS cards in SLI my computer case has been a tiny bit hot so I had to remove the side panel from it (Chieftec Dragon Midi)..

I've been looking at a few new cases and I've been recommended this one:
Antec Twelve Hundred Gaming Case
http://www.antec.com/ec/productDetails.php?ProdID=08120#

I've got a friend who's got the nine hundred version and he's very happy with it. It's silent and the cooling is very good..

Anyone else got any recommendations in the same price range??
I need a silent rather large case with good cooling..

I'm a long time Lian-li Fan. Both my PCs have Lian-li cases. I own a PC-60 and a PC-60. I have had the PC-70 for 7 years now, its a wonderful case. Whatever you buy make sure you get the one with the largest fans. Larger fans equal better cooling and reduced noise.

Here's why I like:

1. They are pure aluminum, which offers much better cooling than plastic...

2. With the exception of mounting the PSU they require little screwing. All cards are secured by hand screws (sounds weak, but it works well). The Drives are secured by pullout trays (similar to hot swap disks found in servers)

3. Very Roomy interiors lots of space to work in, also allows for better cooling.

4. Hand crafted and hand painted. They also have plastic protections on edges so you dont have to cut your hands open working in them.

They do tend to be abit more expensive on average compared to others but its much better quality. A PC-60b Plus (their vanilla model) runs about 130 Euros French prices. I paid Double that 7 years ago and its still was worth every penny. Also the PSU is not included, But any good one will work, I have an Enermax in mine.

I tend to avoid the "bling" cases, like neon lights and see through case doesn't add to anything, but lian-li does have those models too.

The Antec 1200 has gotton good reviews too...

Lian-li's are great, been looking at those as well.
But I can't finde many online retailers here in Norway who sells them so they are quite a bit more expensive then the Antec 1200...
But then again they look a bit better then then Antec so I really can't decide..

Hm, guess I'll have to do some more searching before I decide now..

I went for the Antec 1200...
Couldn't find many Lian-Li's in stores here in Norway, so the Antec was much cheaper.
Got it yesterday and it's HUGE, haven't assebled it yet but it looks like it'll do the job and keep the system (very) cool...

I'll post more when I get it up and running

Nice toy, Antec makes a good product too. Did you upgrade the PSU as well or took it without.

Got this PSU not long ago, so no need for a new one.. :smil:
"I got the Power!" 850W of NorthQ Black Magic Power!

The case looks and works great, but it looks like the "Pimp my ride" crew has been working on it since it got lights all over the place..
Blue lights in all of the fans, and it's a window on the side panel so I can also see the green light on the Zalman CPU fan..

But it works really great and the system temp dropped 10C and the CPU temp aprox 5-6C. It's pretty quiet as well since it's possible to adjust the speed on all of the fans. It's also HUGE and my old Chieftec Dragon case could probably fit inside it so it's no problem to assemble the motherboard and fit all of the hardware in it. It's also quite handy that you can hide all of the cables in a separate room on the other side of the case.

HAL my man, funny because today I was looking at cases and was going with either the XCLIO Windtunnel , Antec Twelve Hundred , or the Thermaltake Spedo Advance Package and I decided on the 1200 today and it reassures me to go with the 1200 by you thinkin its a solid choice...i wanted a higher Lian model but it was like 260 orsomething and i said screw that when i found this case...love it for the room, water upgradedable if i so choose and the cable management looked amazing...give me more insight when you get this on your case or show me pics or vids of it!
