Post - Newbie question about affilitate programs

Okay, I'll admit it, when it comes to Affilitate programs, I'm a complete newb. What type of programs would be best to become affiliated with? Any that you'd want to steer clear of?

Yes, it's best to start with affiliate networks like commission junction and link share. They manage the accounts of several affiliate programs/companies and you can simply choose from the line-up. You can also check affiliate directories.

How is using network affiliate programs any better than finding affiliates on your own? Don't the networks also take a cut of any revenue?

Hi!

I think that some companies have affiliate programs that'll only be handled by affiliate networks. You can directly affiliate with them. Take Xoom.com for example, when you apply for their affiliate program at their website, the link will take you to CJ (or LS). It's more convenient for these company since affiliate networks takes care of everything. Besides, our commissions stays the same.

You should try those that are something to do with your niche because you won’t earn if you are going to insist on something not related to your site. There’s a lot of affiliate program to try. Try to examine first what is best for you. Remember that what works on other doesn’t really mean that will work on you.
