Nintendo Wii Outsells Sony PS3
TOKYO (AP) - Nintendo's Wii video game console outsold Sony's PlayStation 3 six to one in June in Japan, a Japanese publishing company said Monday. Although the Wii has been on sale since late last year, they're selling so briskly supply still hasn't caught up with demand and long lines form when...

Humn, I am actually interested in data from international, not just Japan. I always thought PS3 is going to out sale Wii. Wii has too little choice of games in my opinion.

I'm glad the Wii and DS are doing so well. Nintendo was in a some shaky position as their last consoles N64 and gamecube got smashed by the competition. Its a great company and they need a winner product -hardware wise. The whole 'Mario' realm is still very profitable.

Sony needs to bully SEGA into getting some Sonic stuff out.

I'm still surprised at how well the Wii is doing. I mean, innovation, creativity, and everything else are great, but the game library is still lacking. I guess that price point really helps it.

I was in Circuit City the other day, and they have a sign up: still out of stock on Wiis.

I agree with you as well Riddar.
I've don't really understand why it sells this well myself since it really doesn't have that many good titles...

Well, i thinks it comes from the poor rating i see people giving PS3, seems it just had too much advertisement hype that when it actually came out, it didnt meet most of the expectations. While Nitendo on the other hand, they were the underdogs, kick themselves and created someting worth using. But i hear they are working on improving the titles out there...so maybe it might come to have a better list of games, now that developers see people running to it.

Not to be the nintendo hater, but the cheaper hardware must really be driving other developers off. Not everyone is up to the challenge of making fun games with rediculously low graphics levels (Paper Mario), or even mediocre games that would run well (Warioware). The games that do come out on all three just exemplify the problem (Call of Duty). If I were a developer looking to make a more conventional game, I would want to avoid those scathing reviews and disinterest caused by the graphics problem.
