Post - Pointers for Domain Name

Hi!

I would like to share these pointers I found in the net when registering a new domain name:

1. Avoid numbers if possible like 143.com, etc.

2. Avoid hyphens like i-love-you.com, etc.

3. Limit the words in a name from 1 to 3 like iloveyou etc.

You have tips you want to share???

Avoid 143.com??
That's a $xx,xxx name..

I don't think I agree that you should avoid numbers in domains, at least if they can add a meaning to the name and/or make it easy to remember.
360 has been quite popular in domains recently, and 123 in front of domains as well.

Agree that you should avoid hyphens, at least don't have more than one of them.
One can be good for SEO (to separate keywords), but hyphens are quite useless if you plan to resell the domains..

1 word is great, 2 can be ok but 3 are generally bad (at least for resale value)..

Opppssss! That's to illustrate the point but www.143.com has no developed site yet. I've seen sites where these general rules did not apply but I think webmasters spent a lot of effort developing those sites and marketing them. In the end, I guess that's what counts most, our drive to make our sites succesful...

I agree 100% with your Hyphen tip, I mean its really hard to remember a hyphen. Like Myspace.com is easier then My-space.com
