Looks fine in Firefox. If I were you, I might add an adzone just above to content and below the title, you can get away with it just fine, but otherwise the site looks great.

Post - more tools: Google Page Rank Check, Alexa Rank, HTTP Header Check etc.

Thanks for the comments.
I think I'll keep the ads where they are for now, don't like to put too many ads on a page but I may experiment a bit with the placements soon.

Working on a few new pages for www.spyber.com now:
- Google Page Rank and Alexa Rank checker
(Multiple DC's for Google PR)
- Fake Page Rank Checker
- HTTP Header Checker
- Keyword Density Checker
- Link Popularity
And maybe a few more later..

Just discovered that the changes on the Spyber Google Gadgets are working..
Up to 8,412 users and 247,033 pageviews/week now..
http://www.google.com/ig/directory?n...ybergadget.xml

Just 3,000 pageviews/week away from being eligible to apply for the $5,000 Google Gadget Grant..
(not that I believe that I'll get it... )
Google Gadget Ventures; seed investments up to $100,000

Damn, how cool would that be...

Good ideas though. Consider at least making a few more pages on the site, not all in one place. Get a little more ad exposure that way. Even consider a CPM type ad or two, people who frequently visit the same sites will learn to glaze over your adzones without even knowing. CPM ads will at least get something out of that great traffic.

Try moving an adzone to the top at least, add the visibility and prevent eyes from floating over it as they scroll. And frankly, I expect more ads on a site of that nature, where it is a utility based on ad revenue. Not saying I would want more, but it wouldn't deter me. I get put off by excessive ads on other types of sites, like blogs and forums.

8,416 users / 252,390 pageviews/week now!
Time to mail Google..
Or maybe I should wait a couple of weeks and see if those numbers are steady.

Sent the grant application today, so I'm really keeping my fingers crossed here now..
The Gadget has steadily been gaining popularity and it has 8,521 users and 264,495 pageviews/week now:

They review the applications once a month so it will probably take a while before I get an answer, but I really don't expect too much here since the Gadget isn't really that useful (even if it's quite fun to have on a site IMO.. )

The popularity of the Spyber Gadget doesn't seem to slow down at all..
Up to 9,577 users and 329,064 weekly pageviews now (47,000/day)!

Haven't heard anything from Google yet (don't think I will either ), but I've updated the gadget some more today and added Browser and Operation system detection to it as well now.
Just click the spyglass icon next to "User Agent" to get your browser and OS displayed using AJAX.
Nice, eh??

Just a thought but is there any way to integrate this in to an already established website? like in a frame on a user's log in page. So that when a user tries to log in or check their messages it shows up kinda saying "i see you" or if not that so that website Admins could type in other ppls IP address and do a look up? I know that there are a few sites that do this now but this would give your little toy more functionality. Take it or leave it can't get much better for free... lol

that's certainly possible if you use this tool:

Right now it's only possible to see your own IP info in the gadget, but you can look up other IPs on this page on the main page:
IP Lookup, Geolocation and IP Address Whois

The popularity of the gadget doesn't seem to stop at all yet..
Up to 11,739 users and 461,166 pageviews/week now!!
(over 65000 views per day!)

Had to disable the AJAX browser and OS identification script since the Gadget was killing my server now... :?
The popularity is sky-rocketing, so I really shouldn't complain, but the gadget doesn't pay for a new server so I just had to reduce the features a bit to keep the server load on an acceptable level...
12,704 users and 542,994 pageviews/week now (almost 80,000/day)....

Dang it's more accurate now than your previous versions

I like the design of it.

My software never has bugs. It just develops random features.
