Buy the most freaking advanced computer you can find. Alienware. Dell XPS. A fancy HP. Something with a ton of memory and then get an advanced version of Vista. If you have the $$ it's worth trying. I have a pricey unit (about $2500) and I have relatively few problems, no more than I had with XP.

"upgrade" to Xp..

Turning of Aero and especially the sidebar also helps on speed, and it actually seems to be running abit more smoothly after Service pack 1 so it's also recommended to download that one if you haven't done so already..

Search for "optimize Vista" on google for a lot more tips..
