Post - Trends and tirades

What is the deal with hair and nail salons being named after their street numbers?

Is there a jumping off point for this trend I missed?

Do these business owners not know that women only remember colors and pretty words - not numbers?

In my town, I know better than to think the girls can keep straight whether they're going to Salon 91 or Salon Twelve Thirteen.

What did I miss...????

What? Did I miss a trend too? Or is it just there where you live? *looks around* Nope. 'My' salons aren't named after numbers... maybe street names, yes, but no numbers...

I guess this is a girly thing since I can't remember a single name of hair/nail salons around here..

Must be just your area. Around here, they're too busy trying to be cutesy. I mean you have "Clip and Curl," "Hair Today," etc. No numbers in any of the names around here, either.

I grew up in a small town where a few shops and hair dressers, etc, had the street number in their company name. Studio 19 was the "hot fashion chick" place to be, NH At 1 was for the lastest records (ahem, before the CDs kids, before the CDs).

Now companies have "1" in their name, which is annoying as hell - like the bank "Sparebank1" and the estate dealers "Eiendomsmegler1". Even people use "1" in their name for some odd reason.

I am not seeing it in my area either. More towards names like Curly Q or another one I seen was Nail Beds.

I want to ask whats up with a lot of chicks getting tattoos on their lower backs? I been seeing at least 5 out 10 chicks have em in that certain area, I dunno but this has to qualify as a growing trend because the next girl wants one.
