Its not the Worst (that would be Win ME or MS Bob) but its not a stunning success either.

In one fell swoop MS managed to take what worked well in XP (performance, compatibility) and make it utterly abysmal, while taking what worked poorly in XP (weak security) and made it completely overbearing (UAC).

And aside from a cosmetic changes in order to copy OS 10 nothing is really worth the price of admission.

I think all vista needs to really catch on is more compatibility, better support, better enterprise value like xp or 2000, less bloatware, and voila an os at its peak!

The first major problem with Vista has been that it requires quite a high end configuration like more thatn 1GB of RAM, just to run the rich graphics of the OS. So low end machines are at a disadvantage. Also SP1 hasn't plugged the major holes in the OS as of yet. We have to wait for SP2 or SP1.1 at least.

You forgot about Windows Me, which ran worse than a horse with a broken leg... (too soon after the KY Derby for that joke?)

I've never had any major issues with Vista, other than an occasional issue with a game.

The King Rides again!
