Post - Wii vs Xbox

Hey guys, I will need your help here. Got to decide which console to buy. Wanted to get a Wii because of its uniqueness. Thinking of buying the Xbox because it support lots of games.

So, if you have a budget to buy either Wii or Xbox, which one would you recommend?

Is it a Xbox 360 or a regular Xbox? You did not go into enough detail :P

well, we have playstation 2, xbox 360, and my kids have played on a wii. they go to their friends and so they can play the wii and seem to be more addicted to that one than their other games?! the graphics on the xbox really are pretty amazing, and it is like being in the game? good luck, not sure i really helped lol both r good choices! :-)

Windows Intel

for online, the X360 is by far the best choice. best multiplayer too.

Wii is unique but that's about it.

The Box is superior in almost every respect.

Neither is bad, but they cater to difference audiences+markets. In fact neither considers the other as a competitor.

The Wii caters to a very non-hardcore gamers and kids, if you like games like Mario or more unique games like Bowling or Ping-Pong. Get the Wii. Where the Wii does badly is when it tries to do 'adult' games. FPS, action, platformers, sports etc...

For most adults the Xbox 360 is the better console. Not only do you get
adult games but you can play MP, you have a DVD player, can play HDmovies (with a $200 accessory) etc.

Its more of a complete package where the Wii is more of a novality. My 8 year old cousin loves his Wii, I tried it, I thought it was amusing but I'd never buy one for me.

I would probably be tempted to go for the Wii over the XBox 360 sheerly because of the uniqueness but that is a personal choice.

The XBox is much more of a solid, 'traditional' console and a lot of great games are being or already have been developed for it.

The Wii isn't so much of a technical machine and the graphics aren't truly next-gen but there are quite a few really innovative things going on with that console and it will probably only get better as more developers release new games for it.

Firs you should tell us what kind of games you like to play. It`s true wii is unique but if you can`t find the games you like it would end up to be useless.

It really depends on what sort of games and experience you're hoping to have just like others have said. I've got a Wii and the charm definitely does start wearing off over time although there may be a lot of good games for it in the next year or so. They're too very different systems but both very good.
