It's created by SearchMe and is not an official part of wikipedia, but according to them it has been built with "Wikipedia’s assistance and permission".

I've teste it a bit and it doesn't look too bad.

Same here I think! I'm a loyal Google user, though I must admit search.live.com loves my site and usually lists me within the 1st page for various search terms. But I'll probably stick with Google.

There's so much sites that have lots of good information, that is not linked from wikipedia.
And that search engine won't find them.

Beside, if you know how to use Google, SEO spam won't touch you.

Yes, google is still better, but when you are looking for a guide I like to look through Wiki because there guides explain everything in great detail.

I think I am going to check this out. Google is so large that its getting to the point where it doesn't have to concern itself with how it affects everyday people, like setting up to provide street level views of neighborhoods, and giving up information to government entities.

Google might be better for now, if you just want as much general traffic as you can squeeze out, but they will continually tune their TOS so that only a very few sites can comply and still generate Adsense money. Since I am actually marketing to a niche, scads of looky-loos won't help my cause but will cost me time.

New options should be used while they are new, and uncluttered. This way you are ahead of the game when the holds outs start filtering in.

Hey! I checked it out and it has been taken offline. Have they stopped it altogether? Anyways, these days browsers also come with their Wiki search plugins, like Firefox has one. They are quite handy.
