Post - WoW to expensive?

I know a lot of people think that Wow is to expensive and I would have to agree with them? I mean 15 bucks a month? That's just crazy. I rather play a game just as much fun that is a one time fee like Guild Wars, or at least a game that is cheaper every month like City of Heroes.

What are your views?

Its all how you think about it, over a month you probably loose more then 15 in change during time that you could be playing wow, or spend the money on just as dumb stuff as a video game.

Depends.

If you play it a lot (like every day) its a good deal, because its essentially paying 1/2 the price of a new game per month. I grew bored with it and one day I realized I hadn't played it in 6 months although I was still getting charged. So I canceled my subscription.

I doubt I'll go back to WOW, but I was looking at other MMORPGS. My favorite is Warhammer (early 08) but there is also Conan. Depending on the reviews I might try that. Also DnD Online.

I still have lots of games to finish so I am not in any major hurry.

I realize this is a old topic and sorry if it's annoying when i bump it. Just thought i'd reply anyways because im sure people still look in this section. Anyways back on topic. It's hard to realize it, but it is expensive. I just bought game cards (its still $15, but don't have to use credit card) though instead of using credit card since im not old enough for one. If you really think about it, do 15x12 and thats how much your spending for the game + the additional money it cost to buy the game.

By the way, in the end your paying $180 every month just to play a game and then to add the extra $50 for the game. Now think of it this way, theres probably more then a few hundred thousand people who play this game, right? Just think how much they make a month?!?!

I play Guild Wars and WoW lol. Well I really kinda switch between the two every once in a while. I don't think 15 bucks is really too much to worry about when I play the game pretty often.

I don't know about you guys. I think it is rather cool. You can play with different people from all over the world. Come to think of it, this is the first game online that I want to play.

I think paying $15 a month isn't much considering the amount of work Blizzard puts into this project. Can't wait till WoW: Wrath of the Lich King comes out! =)

I agree with you because I was thinking of playing it but I was force to forget it because the subscription is too expensive and the other thing that makes me want to back out is that it has an auto renewal. I was planning to make more money by selling its gold but I think that its not worth it because you will have to get into it more often.

The easiest option with these games if you don't want the monthly subscription is to buy the game time cards that way you can can play it whenever you get the urge without the continuous credit card hit.
