Post - Xbox 360 vs. Laptops?? 12-inch LCD monitor for the 360 announced

Quote:
April 16, 2007 - Microsoft's oft-rumored plans for a portable Xbox may have just been spoiled. The latest peripheral from the same folks that brought the world the Onimusha sword controller and the Final Fantasy X-2 gun controller promises to deliver true Xbox 360 gaming on-the-go. Assuming you've got a bag big enough to house an Xbox 360.

Hori finalized today release plans for the Compact TFT Monitor EX, an LCD monitor that can be attached to your Xbox 360 with minimal effort. The 36,750 yen 12.1 inch monitor outputs 720p and gets its signal from the 360 via analogue RGB. Sound is output via stereo speakers below the monitor, or you can plug in headphones.

It looks pretty slick, but the downside is that you'll still need to find a place to plug in the power adapter for the XBOX 360 and the monitor; no batteries are included..
(but I wouldn't be surprised if they come up with a batterypack sooner or later as well..)

Throw an inverter in your car and your kids are happy...lol...

I see this more as a luxury, look what I got item then anything that is actually useful...

Maybe if you have kids and only one TV at your vacation home or something....

It looks pretty good, but I can never play games in the car, I always get carsick. I have an adapter I bought for the car so I can plug in my laptop for GPS nav, but I may just have to try this. I would bet the bottom of the 360 gets pretty hot so you would need a good place to put it.

I think it looks a bit bulky. I would just go get a laptop instead since it can be used for so many other things too. In my oppinion, if you're just buying it for your kids to play in the car with....I don't know...it's too much.

The downside is a big downside to me because I would want to take it on road trips and play it, so it would require me to have a car with extra outlets which isnt good. I would say good idea but they need to get that fixed imidiately.

I think it would just a better idea to but a laptop, I mean they probably cost the same as that and it would a better.
