Post - Zone Alarm - Opinions, please

I have recently installed the trial version of ZA on my machine. I did it out of ire and annoyance - I rec'd a .zip file that had been transformed into a proprietary format and required ZA to open it.

Instead of uninstalling it right away once it was done with its purpose, I left it on to see what I could see. It's sure been slick about protecting me from spyware and a couple of access attempts.

Does anyone here use it? What do you think about it? Is it worth the price if I decide to buy it? (I d/l'ed the Internet Security Suite trial, I think it's $59 to buy)

I dont care much for Zone Alarm...

I mean if you do smart computing all you really need is a good router and your windows firewall...

However hardware firewalls will always be better then software ones...

If you really want to get crazy and got an old machine lying around check out http://www.smoothwall.org/

I use Bitdefender 10.4 for security.

Its got the best anti-virus, an excellent firewall, and a good anti-spam program. All rolled in One.

I got a 2-year 2 licenses deal for $69. The 2 license deal allows you free upgrades to all versions, I just upgraded from XP to VISTA at no cost.

I have ZoneAlarm on one of my computers and I have been very happy with it. I also have McAfee installed on some of my others, but atleast with ZoneAlarm you don't have annoying messages popping up all the time. I would recommend it.
