Topic zune vs ipod

well, i want to get my hubby one of these but now sure which one to get?? i am swaying a little towards the zune because of the wifi and has a radio.

i know the ipod looks cooler, but heck, i am not really sure which to get???

any advice??

Neither.

I have the Nano. As a simple Mp3 its OK, but overpriced. But I cannot say its its the greatest. I don't like the Wheel, it only works via itunes, no WIFI, no radio, no bluetooth, and for the models that do video it plays only a few video codecs (*.mov, MPEG4 and MP4). No Divx or AVI. Its only saving grace is that it is small+light. I use it for my commute, but I doubt I'll buy another.

I cannot comment much on the Zune but the reviews have been ho-hum. Its neither bad nor spectacular. It does have more features than the Ipod but overall its not a killer product. One thing I thing the Zune supports either/or *.avi or WMA which makes it better for video.

I have been out of the MP market for awhile so I cannot tell you whats hot right now. In the past Archos and Creative have been good.

Ipods look very nice, i suppose it would be a hard deciding which one to get, since they are both very good and both look nice.
I would suggest an Ipod.

Aren't the Zunes generally cheaper too? I think I am going to go with an iPod when I finally retire my discman simply because they have been out for so long and there is such a great array of models and options.

Does anyone here have a Zune? If so, what do you think of it?

i'm saying Ipod as its more general and if somethings go wrong you can find some store to fix it more easily. more Ipod always release new versions so they are getting better and better on these days

The customer service for Apple I think may be better and there are more peripherals for the iPod just because it's become so popular. I'm not sure which I like more really but I think I would lean slightly toward the iPod.

I only have Ipods, but I was looking at Zunes not too long ago. I decided not to buy one and just stick with my iPods because I think that iTunes and the technical help for iPod is much better. I do like that you can wirelessley (is that even a word?) share music and photos with the Zune.

There are a few noteworthy alternatives to the popular MP3 players that are much cheaper and work pretty well.

The iPOD is like a Mercedes...jazzy. Bit it lacks things like a radio, bluetooth etc. Look and feel wise it is the best no doubt. Why don't you gift him a PDA instead, if I can suggest that. PDA's are really cool and much more multi-utilitarian than an iPOD.
